Bory Tucholskie National Park - Polish national park located in the north Poland, in Pomeranian Voivodeship, in the forest complexes of the Charzykowska Plain. The park was established in July 1996, and the headquarters is located in Charzykowy, located in Chojnice district.

Forest near Drzewicz

The park is located in the municipalities of Chojnice and Brusy. Its area is 4,613 ha, and the buffer zone around the park is 12,980.5 ha. This park is therefore the fifth smallest in terms of the area occupied in Poland and the second youngest, right after Warta Mouth National Park.

Lake Charzykowskie

The park is part of the "Bory Tucholskie" Biosphere Reserve established in 2010.

The forest area of ​​the park covers only 1.9% of the total forest area of ​​Bory Tucholskie. It is an area of ​​3,800 ha, covering almost 83% of the park's area. Coniferous habitats dominate, covering 98% of all forest habitats.

Lakes

There are many lakes in the park. They include, among others Gacno Małe, Gacno Wielkie, Jeleń, Ostrowite, Zielone, Krzywe Małe, Krzywe Wielkie, Charzykowskie, Dybrzyk, Łąckie, Karsińskie, Płęsno, Nierybno, Mielnica and Skrzynka. In addition, there are several smaller ponds and rivers (the famous Struga Siedmiu Jezior).

By plane

There are no airports in the vicinity of the park. The nearest one is located in Bialy Błota, near Bydgoszcz (Bydgoszcz-Szwedrowo Airport), about 105 km from the village of Zbeniny, and the second is located in Gdansk (Lech Wałęsa Airport) and it is located about 115 km north-east of the aforementioned village.

By car

The surroundings of the park have not undergone significant changes to the landscape, therefore there are no busy communication routes nearby. In the north of the park, DW 236 runs through the village of Drzewicz. The second such road is DW 235, which is located east of the park and runs, among others, through Brusy and Męcikał, ending in the center Chojnic. In the south, near the park, there is the Chojnice bypass - DK 22.

Tourist information

The amount of fees for a single admission to the park: reduced ticket - PLN 1.50 (schoolchildren, students, pensioners, retirees and the disabled), normal ticket - PLN 3.00. Fees are not collected from residents of municipalities within the park, children under 7 and large families with a Large Family Card.
