The 1 Perth Railway Station is the central railway hub in southern Scotland. Regional connections lead from here
- to the west over the Forth Bridge Edinburgh
- to the east over Stirling to Glasgow Queen Street
- to the north, among others Pitlochry and Aviemore to Inverness
- to the northeast over Dundee to Aberdeen.
There are two connections to every day London, of which one connection during the day (to London King's Cross) and one with the night train, the Caledonian Sleeper (every day except Saturday) which runs to London Euston.

The national cycle route NCN 77 runs from Dundee via Perth to Pitlochry.
