Pirita is a suburb of the city of Tallinn.
To know
The Pirita district is renowned for its beach, the busiest in Tallinn. It also offers several possibilities for outdoor activities such as cycling to Cape Rohuneeme in the suburb of Viimsi, located just to the north.
For the rest, Pirita is a wealthy residential neighborhood, made up mostly of chalets and villas literally surrounded by greenery. The southern area of Pirita bordering the Lasnamäe district has a more popular character: there is no shortage of Soviet-era condominiums built with perishable materials at the time of Khrushchev but several were restored after the restoration of independence.
How to orient yourself
The hub of the district is its beach, immediately north of the mouth of the river of the same name and the marina built for the 1980 Moscow Olympics.
