Ploudalmézeau (Breton Gwitalmeze) is one french Commune in the department Finistère in the Brittany.

The place Ploudalmézeau is the administrative seat of the canton of the same name. The municipality has around 45 kilometers of coastline with 23 beaches and 3 harbors. It is one of the largest communes in the department. Most of the residents live in the main town of Bourg or in the district of Portsall (Breton Porsall) on the coast. On March 16, 1978, this place made headlines as it was the first place where the oil spill of the tanker "Amoco Cadiz" reached the coast.
