Poggibonsi (SI) is a city in Val d'Elsa.

background

Due to the favorable location in the fertile Val d'Elsa the place was inhabited for a very long time. Today's Poggibonsi originated essentially from the 10th century.

The city's infrastructure today is above average for Tuscany, on the one hand due to its location directly on the Raccordo Autostradale Firenze-Siena and as a traffic junction on the road to the surrounding area, on the other hand due to the rail network and a large bus station. In addition, there are several well-developed bike paths in the relatively flat Elsa Valley.

Unfortunately, the place is less popular with tourists today, as the city is often only seen as a traveler by public transport or from the expressway.
