Polanica-Zdrój(German: Bad Altheide) is a mountain and health resort in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship at the Reinerzer Weistritz in the Glatzer Ländchen between the mountain ranges of the Heuscheuergebirge and des Habelschwerdter Mountains the Medium brews. Its location makes the place an important center of tourism in the Glatzer Ländchen. The city is a popular health resort and base for hiking in the surrounding mountains.

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1347, even if it was probably founded in the previous century. The healing effects of the local wells have been known since the beginning of the 17th century. At the end of the Thirty Years War, however, the place was destroyed by the Swedes in 1645. With the reconstruction, the Jesuits set up a spa facility for their religious here in 1650. In 1742/1763 the place came to Prussia. Tourism began to develop in the 19th century, in 1890 the place was connected to the rail network of the Glatz – Rückers railway line. The place developed steadily, with the exception of the times of the world wars. In 1945 he came to Poland.
