It was built around 1912 and electrified in the twenties. The historic - partly open - wagons are still in use. With - 2008 - 3 € per trip not exactly cheap, but an experience. Since spring 2007 the promenade of Port de Sóller has been closed to private traffic. The bank area has become much quieter as a result. Cars have to drive into the village via the newly built tunnel in the north and can be parked in the newly built multi-storey car park - subject to a fee.
