background
The place is about 3.5 km from the center Sóllers away on a well protected bay. On the opposite side of the bay is Platja d'en Repic beach.
Port de Sóller is connected to Sóller by a historical tram line of approx. 4 km in length. This runs directly from the station forecourt in Sóller through the lemon groves to the pier. It was built around 1912 and electrified in the twenties. The historic - partly open - wagons are still in use. With - 2008 - 3 € per trip not exactly cheap, but an experience. There is a regular timetable about twice an hour.
Since spring 2007 the promenade of Port de Sóller has been closed to private traffic. The bank area has become much quieter as a result. Cars have to drive into the village via the newly built tunnel in the north and can be parked in the newly built multi-storey car park - subject to a fee. Otherwise, free parking spaces are in short supply.
