Gostyń poviat - poviat in Poland, in Greater Poland Voivodeship, created in 1999 as part of an administrative reform. Its seat is in the city Gostyń.

The district covers an area of 810.34 km² and the population density is 94 people / km²
History
The Gostyń County was established by the Prussian authorities in 1887 (Kreis Gostyn). On January 3, 1919, the power in the poviat passed into Polish hands. In the interwar period, the administrative boundaries of the poviat were corrected several times. The poviat boundaries were finally shaped in 1934. The poviat then comprised the communes of Gostyń, Poniec, Piaski, Krobia, Pępowo and Borek Wlkp. Only Pogorzela was still within the boundaries of of the Krotoszyn poviat.
In 1975, as a result of an administrative reform, the Gostyń County was liquidated. He returned to the administrative map of Poland after another reform on January 1, 1999.
Geography
Spaces with vast and monotonous upland surfaces, almost without elevations. Only in the northern part the landscape is diversified by the depression of the Obra Canal.
It is located in the southern part of the Greater Poland Province, in Wysoczyzna Leszczyńska and Kaliska. Road no. 12 runs through the poviat and connects the western and eastern border of the country, a section here Glogow-Sieradz.
Economy
A district with good soils and high agricultural culture. Numerous agri-food processing plants, including: "Pudliszki" and "Mróz".

Despite the low forest cover (14%), there are 4 nature reserves here:
- Spring bog in Gostyń Stary - a floristic reserve in the commune of Gostyń, north of the village Old Gostyń
- Pępowo reserve - a forest reserve in the Pępowo commune, near the village of Siedlec
- Red Rose Reserve - a forest reserve in the Pępowo commune, near the village of Siedlec
- Bodzewko reserve - a forest reserve in the Piaski commune, near the village of Bodzewko
It is located in the district of over 20 manor parks and 10 monuments of inanimate nature, mainly erratic boulders
Folk culture
A district with a still alive folk culture, around Krobi, a folklore region of Biskupia that cultivates old traditions.
