Gryficki poviat - a district in the north-west Poland, in West Pomeranian Voivodeship, created in 1999 as part of the then administrative reform. The city is the seat of the poviat authorities Gryfice (53 ° 54′53 ″ N 15 ° 11′55 ″ E).

In 2016, the poviat had an area of ​​1017.37 km², 61,160 inhabitants lived there, i.e. the population density was 60.1 people / km², urbanization 50.4%.

The poviat constitutes 4.44% of the area of ​​the West Pomeranian Voivodeship and ranks 13th in this respect.

60 nature monuments have been established in the poviat. Approximately 600 ha of the poviat's area, ie 0.6%, is legally protected areas of special natural values.

4 nature reserves have been created in the poviat. The first fauna reserve in 1959 "Lake Liwia Łuża”(239.68 ha) to protect the breeding site, which was rare at that time mute swan.

Tourism

The area of ​​the poviat covers three towns (Gryfice, Płoty, Trzebiatów), which were granted town privileges already in the 13th century, thanks to which they have many monuments. The countryside was inhabited by German aristocrats who ran farms and built their palaces. The most frequently visited historic buildings in the commune are St Mary's Church in Trzebiatów (one of the highest in the country), lighthouse in Niechorze and the ruins of the church of St. Trzęsacz on the seaside embankment.

In the poviat, there are 6 small hydropower plants on the Rega River (Rejowice, Likowo, Trzebiatów, Trzebiatów II, Płoty, Prusinowo) with a total capacity of 3.2 MW, included in the company Zespół Elektrowni Wodnych w Płoty (Koncern Enea SA).

Railway lines

The railway line No. 402 (GoleniówKoszalin) with a length of 49,631 km, connecting all the towns of the poviat, as well as smaller railway stations. The line is a rail link between Szczecin and Kołobrzeg and Koszalin. The line is not electrified and there are rail buses on it. The narrow-gauge railway line (Gryfice Wąskotorowe - Pogorzelica Gryficka) runs during the holiday season, co-financed by the Rewal commune.

Roads in the poviat are mainly national road No. 6 (Szczecin → Koszalin →Gdansk). It runs through the south of the poviat, including one of the cities - Płoty, from where 3 voivodeship roads depart.

  • The provincial road No. 109 runs northwards to the sea from Płoty through Gryfice, Trzebiatów to Mrzeżyno.
  • The voivodeship road no. 108 leaves Płoty westward to Wolin and Świnoujście.
  • The provincial road no. 152 leaves Płoty eastwards to Połczyn-Zdrój.
  • The provincial road no. 105, which leads through two municipal seats (Brojce, Gryfice) westwards to Kamień Pomorski, also diverges from the national "six".
  • The provincial road No. 110 begins in Gryfice, leading north (through Karnice) to the coast.
  • The provincial road no. 102 is a coastal route that leads south-west from Kołobrzeg to Trzebiatów, then to Rewal, and runs along the coast to Dziwnów and Międzyzdroje.
  • The provincial road no. 103 leaves Trzebiatów south-west to Kamień Pomorski.
  • The district has the seat of the Gryfice Provincial Roads Region, which takes care of all provincial roads.
