Characteristic

Geography

The Oleśnicka Plain, located in the Silesian Lowland, includes the Oleśnicko -Bierutowska Plain, which is mainly in the form of a slightly undulating moraine plateau.

The Silesian Lowland was within the range of the Odra glaciation, after which there are, among others, moraine hills. The arch of the squeezed moraines are the Twardogórskie Hills (eastern part Wał Trzebnicki), whose central and highest part is the Twardogórski Ridge, turning north-east to Międzybórz and turning into the Międzyborskie Hills. The highest hill, Zbójnik, near Międzybórz, is 272 meters high.

A short branch of the Twardogórski Ridge towards the south-east are the Sycowskie Hills, which refer to the moraine arc of the neighboring The Ostrzeszowskie Hills. In the vicinity Sycow there is a depression (the so-called gate), which is a natural border between these two hills, and at the same time between Lower Silesia and Greater Poland.

From the Twardogórskie Hills at an altitude of about 200 m above sea level. flows out Widawa, right tributary Odra River. Its length is 103 km, and its basin area is 716 sq km.
