Wejherowo poviat (kashb.Wejrowsczi kréz) - district in the north Poland, in Pomeranian Voivodeship, created in 1999 as part of the then administrative reform]]. Its seat is in the city Wejherowo.

It is the most populous poviat in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. Taking into account all of Poland, the poviat ranks seventh among the land poviats in terms of population. The poviat is largely inhabited by the population Kashubian. In two municipalities - Szemud and Line - the Kashub language was introduced in 2010 as an auxiliary language, with the addition of Kashubian (as the second) names of places and tourist attractions.

General information

The poviat within its present borders was established as a result of an administrative reform in 1999. It is situated in the south-eastern part of the Pomeranian Voivodeship.

It has an area of ​​1,285.25 and is inhabited by 207,676 people, so the population density is 161.6 and the district's urbanization is 58.83%. The Wejherowo Poviat is the poviat with the largest number of inhabitants in the Pomeranian Voivodeship (it does not include towns with poviat rights).

The neighboring poviats are: Kartuzy poviat, Lębork district, Pucki district and a city with poviat rights Gdynia.
