Costa Brava - Rocky cliffs and a mix of rocky beaches and sandy beaches in addition to Figueres, birthplace of Salvador Dalí. Also includes Blanes, Lloret de Mar is Tossa de Mar.
Girona - Pretty old town with an impressive Jewish quarter.
Pyrenees of Girona - Grandiose mountain landscapes, ski resorts and the Natural park of the volcanic area of the Garrotxa. It includes Besalú is Castellfollit de la Roca.
Urban centers
- Girona - Pretty old town with an impressive Jewish quarter. It boasts an international airport.
- Besalú - A very old city, west of Figueres, with a historic bridge. 26 km from Girona, along the way to Olot.

- Cantallops - A compact mountain town with two wineries and some good restaurants.
- Castellfollit de la Roca - Further west than Besalú, but it's worth it because it's an amazing city, perched along a thin strip of rock jutting out into a canyon.
- Torroella de Montgrí - A pleasant old town which was once the capital of the Empúries kingdom. Now it stands at the base of a mountain that rises to a castle. A nice day outing for hikers.
Costa Brava
- Cadaqués - A beautiful seaside town which is also home to one of Dali's houses.
- Figueres - The hometown of Salvator Dalì, whose eccentric works are kept in a museum dedicated to him. Figueres is located in the plain north of Girona on the highway to the France.
- Lloret de Mar - A beach resort with a reputation for its nightlife.
- Tossa de Mar
Pyrenees
- Olot - Location east of the capital famous for a famous school of printed fabrics exhibited in the local museum. Inside the Natural park of the volcanic area of the Garrotxa (Parque Natural de la Zona Volcánica de la Garrocha).
