Péribonka is a small village located at the mouth of the Péribonka river on the north bank of the Lake Saint-Jean in the region of Saguenay – Lac-Saint-Jean to Quebec. the Pointe-Taillon National Park is located in front of the village on the other side of the river.

- Louis-Hémon Museum – Museum gathering documents relating to Louis Hémon and presenting works of art on the subject Maria chapdelaine. The museum is made up of three buildings: the Maria-Chapdelaine pavilion housing a temporary exhibition during the summer season, the Samuel-Bédard house which is a heritage site where Louis Hémon lived and the Contemporary pavilion housing various exhibitions related to Maria chapdelaine, Louis Hémon or literature. The famous sculpture Woman and Earth of Ronald Thibert sits in front of this last pavilion.

- International crossing of Lac Saint-Jean – Swimming endurance event held annually since 1955 consisting of several open water swimming events including the crossing of the Lake Saint-Jean Between Roberval and Péribonka, a distance of 32 km.
