According to the ADFC bicycle travel analysis 2007 Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Once again the German cycling country No. 1. The result is not surprising: between the more than 2000 lakes "Meck-Poms" and along the varied Baltic Sea coast you can cycle beautifully. Seven long-distance cycle paths with 2200 km and numerous regional routes open up the whole country.

- Elbe cycle path - Section: Magdeburg-Cuxhaven
- Mecklenburg Lake Cycle Route - The way of a thousand waters, between the Elbe and the Szczecin Lagoon - 630 km from Luneburg to the Baltic island Usedom
- Oder-Neisse cycle path - 540 kilometers along Germany's eastern border. From the Czech Republic along the Polish border to the Szczecin Lagoon, where the Oder flows into the Baltic Sea.
- Baltic Sea Cycle Route - 645 km along the Baltic Sea coast, past sandy beaches, cliffs, fashionable seaside resorts, quaint fishing villages and proud Hanseatic cities. The island of Rügen is also circled.

- Long-distance cycle route Hamburg – Rügen - 520 km
- Long-distance cycle route Berlin - Usedom - 320 km
Regional cycle routes
In addition to the seven long-distance cycle routes in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, there are also 21 regional circular cycle routes. These each represent a region of the country. The aim of the courses is not to get from A to B as quickly as possible, but rather to discover the region by bike. Even if some cycle routes are longer than 150 km, they will still be regardless of the length marketed as regional routes.
Signposting: All circular cycle routes are signposted with a round pictogram that contains the route name. The pictograms of the individual routes have different colors so that the routes can be differentiated at junctions.
