Ramadi (Arabic: الرمادي; BGN: Ar Ramādī) is a capital in Ramadi District, in the Al Anbar Governorate region of Iraq.
Understand
Ramadi is the largest city in Al-Anbar province. It fell to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant in May 2015, but was recaptured by Iraqi government forces in December 2015.

Map of RamadiRamadi is situated along the rail line from Baghdad, however there has been no passenger service running for at least a decade. In 2018 trains started operating to nearby Fallujah again, raising hopes that passenger services will be extended to Ramadi in the near future. The defunct 1 Ramadi railway station is located south of the city.
