Ramatuelle is a city in the department Var in the french region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur not far from Saint Tropez. In the area of the municipality is the 4.5 km long beach of Pampelonne, one of the largest sandy beaches in Provence.

The origins of the city have not yet been explored in detail. It is believed that the foundation goes back to the Celtic-Ligurian tribe of the Camatullici. For the first time the city was called in the 10th century Rahmatu'llah mentioned on documents of the Saracens who conquered this area. The medieval townscape is characterized by narrow streets, of the city wall only the Saracen Gate has been preserved. Viticulture and tourism are the main livelihoods of the municipality.
