The Blue Springs nature reserve - limnokren

The "Blue Springs" reserve is located on the right bank of the Pilica River opposite the Brzustówka suburb. It contains a very interesting spring, a beautiful karst spring. The spring water is very clean, therefore at the bottom, 2.5 m below the water surface, you can clearly see the pulsating sandy bottom. from the white bottom, make the springs visible in the form of spots of a very vivid greenish-blue color of various shades, depending on the season and weather, and therefore the angle of the sun's rays - this is the reason for the fame of the "Blue Springs".
In addition, the water has a constant temperature of approx. 9 ° C, regardless of the season, so even in the coldest winters, the springs do not freeze.
They give rise to the John River.
They are located in the south-west end of the reserve, where a wide avenue leads along the causeway.
In addition, the reserve protects water birds. On its territory there is an alder forest which is their mainstay.
Over 400 species of vascular plants have been identified in the reserve, including white water lily, water turtle, mountain pine.
About 50 species of birds have been identified, including several types of ducks, the predominant species, fed by tourists and residents of Tomaszów. There is a tourist and educational trail around the water area of the reserve, while the islands are not entered. Several tables provide basic information about the reserve.
The reserve is located in Sulejowski Landscape Park included in the Complex of Riverside Landscape Parks.
