Ronneburg Castle is a hilltop castle above the village. It was originally built in the 12th century and later came into the possession of the Lords of Isenburg, who built a residence here. The Ronneburg burned down in the Thirty Years War and was then plundered, but the historical building fabric has been preserved to this day.
The main castle belongs to the castle complex, mostly from the Middle Ages with some Renaissance alterations, including some important buildings such as the 32 meter high keep and the hall building. Outside the main castle are the Zwinger and the outer bailey with other important buildings such as the Marstall.
The outer bailey is open to the public around the clock. The core castle provides that today Castle Museum which can be viewed during opening hours. From the keep you have a remarkable view of Frankfurt and beyond. There is also an extensive entertainment program, which is more aimed at children.
There is a large parking lot in front of the Ronneburg, so you shouldn't have any parking problems.
