Rossone is a fraction of the municipality of Zavattarello in the province of Pavia.

As well as its municipality of belonging Zavattarello is part of the mountain belt of the Oltrepò Pavese Mountain Community.
Geographical notes
Rossone is a small village located in the upper Val Tidone which is 3.13 kilometers from the municipal capital of Zavattarello. From some points of the town it is possible to admire magnificent views typical of the valley, and also many of the surrounding villages such as Casa Cabano, Casa Fiori, Torretta, Pietragavina, all hamlets of Varzi always in the same province, and other towns of the same municipality such as Bozzola and Zavattarello. The woods of Rossone are rich in game fauna, many hunters come to practice this sport during the seasons, in the autumn period in the same woods the chestnuts and the epigean mushroom, very common in these areas, is harvested.
When to go
Although in winter the population is not considerably dense, in summer this town comes alive bringing a total population of almost a hundred inhabitants this makes Rossone a popular place for a holiday.
Background
Thanks to the terrain rich in hills and scrub in the period of the Second World War, many were the partisans and people who found refuge here.

- Rossone Church (Church of Rossone). Perfectly intact and functioning medieval church, run by the locals and the parish priest of Zavattarello. It is located in the center of the town and is considered a landmark and a real village symbol. The church is a structure present in all the hamlets of Zavattarello, precisely because in medieval times these small villages were independent, they also possessed small shops and primary schools.

- Circle Smile. In the summer, usually from the end of May to the end of September, a group of people who live in Rossone keep the town alive by managing a small bar, it can be said that it is considered the true heart and meeting point of the town. Famous are the Saturday evening dinners organized by the managers and the great tournaments of cards, bowls, five-a-side football and table football which you can participate in the first half of August.
