The dempster road is a road from Northern canadian connecting the Klondike Highway to Yukon To Inuvik in the Northwest Territories.

Understand

The Dempster Road begins at approx 40 km to the east of Dawson city to Yukon from the Klondike Highway which goes by Alaska. It is gravel along its entire length, with the exception of 6 km. Much of the route follows an old sled dog track. It was opened in 1979 to connect the mineral wealth of Northern canadian with the south of the country. The beauty of the ride is in the surrounding mountains and the rivers that the route crosses.

The route is open year round, but it is less arduous from June to August. In fact, July to August is the best time to appreciate the beauty of the colors of the arctic summer. The summer season also allows you to observe the midnight sun. In winter, ferries (ferries) along the road are replaced by ice bridges.
