It consists of the districts Saarwellingen, Schwarzenholz and Reisbach. Saarwellingen is located in the western Saarland in the Saarlouis district.

The nearest train station, Saarlouis Hbf, is about five kilometers from the town center.

The community is served by several lines of the roundabout companies as well as the train buses.

Saarwellingen is connected to the motorway network not only within the Saarland, but also in the direction of Luxembourg, France and Germany through four junctions on the A8. The B 405 also connects Saarwellingen with the French border. The B 269 also runs through the municipality.
