Saint-Cyprien is a port city and a seaside resort of Eastern Pyrenees, in the south of France.
Located on the Côte d'Améthyste, it is made up of several urban centers: Saint-Cyprien proper (historic center of the town) and Saint-Cyprien-Plage are the main ones.
The tourist and residential district of Saint-Cyprien-Plage is one of the seven seaside resorts developed in the 1960s in Languedoc-Roussillon as part of the “Mission Racine”, in order to make this part of the coast more attractive and to compete with the Spanish tourist industry. It houses many modern residences and a fishing and marina of more than 27 hectares, one of the most important at the national level.
