In addition, the city is surrounded by the parish of the same name which covers an area of 344 km2. Across the river is the state American from Maine. Saint-Léonard is located on the Trans-Canada Highway, that is to say highway 2, to 40 km by road south-east ofEdmundston. In fact, it is located at the crossroads of this road with road 17 which connects it to the North-East of New Brunswick towards Campbellton including through Saint-Quentin. In addition, it is connected by a bridge to the city of Van Buren to Maine.
