Saint-Quentin is a city in French Department Aisne in the region Hauts-de-France (historical region: Picardy). The city is the seat of a sub-prefecture.
background
The largest city in the Aisne department is an important center for industry and trade, but also an important transport hub. In Roman times it was called Augusta Viromanduorum. The basilica is said to contain the relics of St. Quentin, a Roman from the 3rd century.
