Hauts-de-France (Nord-Pas-de-Calais-Picardie) is one of the 13 administrative regions in metropolitan France that were redesigned in 2016. It is located in the very north of France and consists of the departments of the former regions Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardy. The region borders Belgium in the northeast (Flanders and Wallonia, in the east Grand Est, in the south Île-de-France, in the west to the Normandy and in the northwest to the English Channel.
