The department named after a tributary of the Seine Oise lies in the northern French region Picardy. The Oise department was founded March 4, 1790 and has the serial number 60. It borders the department in the north Somme, in the east to the département Aisne, in the south to the départements Seine-et-Marne and Val-d'Oise as well as in the west to the départements Your and Seine-Maritime.

The Wild West at the gates of Paris.
