The beauty of the sites, their conservation and the typicality of its habitat constitute the main heritage of Saint-Roman-de-Codières. However, some places and monuments in the town are worth a detour:

  • Menhirs Logo indicating a link to the website (Col de Pierre Levée, Col du Cayrel, Mont Liron and Col des Fosses) – Seven megaliths, witnesses of an ancient human presence on the territory of Saint-Roman-de-Codières
  • Catholic Church Logo indicating a link to the website – The current Romanesque-style church of Saint-Roman-de-Codières, with its adjoining cemetery, was built in the early 18th century after the previous building was burnt down in 1703 by the Camisards. The granite building had to be altered several times from 1960 to 1982. Nowadays it depends on the Catholic Church of Sumène
  • Tour of Saint-Roman-de-Codières  – Remains of the old medieval castle. It was rehabilitated and deeply redeveloped in 1838 by Count Raymond de Serre de Saint Roman. On the occasion of these works, the archers have given way to modern openings and the top of the tower is hemmed with small pink brick arches which give it that Arabist touch probably responsible for the name of "tower. sarrasine ”, with which the local tradition sometimes adorns it. Measuring after restoration 22 meters tall, it is almost square (7,52 m x 7,70 m x 7,90 m). The part which corresponds roughly to the first two floors is built in a beautiful regular apparatus with rustic bosses without edging, dating from the second half of the twelfth century or the first half of the thirteenth century.
  • Saint-Grégoire Chapel Logo indicating a link to the website (hamlet of Driolle) – Pious foundation, prior to the Reformation, without income and without service from the beginning of the 18th century.
  • Protestant temple Logo indicating a link to the website (hamlet of Bouras) – Built in the 19th centurye century, its plans, based on a rectangle, are very sober as is the case with most reformed Cévennes buildings of that time. This place of worship, after having been attached to the presbyteral council of the parish of Colognac, today depends on that of the neighboring parish of Cros. Its service is provided occasionally by the pastor of the reformed church of Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort and Haut Vidourle.
