Le Vigan is a municipality located in Languedoc-Roussillon, in the Cevennes.

By plane

The nearest airports are those of Montpellier-Mediterranean and Nîmes-Arles-Camargue, however, there is no shuttle allowing direct access to Le Vigan.

By train

No train has served this city for several decades, we can only get closer by Montpellier or by Nimes. Buses with a more or less direct connection from these cities allow the journey to be completed.

By bus

It is by far the only mode of public transport (after the taxi ...) that allows you to get to Vigan. It is possible to reach this destination from Montpellier or from Nimes, the passage frequencies being moreover quite attractive despite restrictive travel times (close to 2 h journey from Nîmes ...).

Other lines of less importance ensure the journeys from Le Vigan to the surrounding villages, some however reach some localities located in theAveyron. Find out about the operating days and times before planning any trip.

By car

The D999 serves Le Vigan fromAveyron or the rest of the department, especially from Nimes where it takes almost an hour to travel.

From the sea or the Lozere, we will choose more the D986. Travelers coming from Florac can arrive by D 907 until Vebron, follow the D 18 until Mount Aigoual Then D 48 via the Col du Minier.

The car is not really useful when choosing to stay in the city, despite the lack of an urban transport network. Parking outside the car parks can sometimes be difficult, especially on open-air market days.

It is quite possible to explore the city by bike.
