Sainte-Croix is a Swiss Municipality in the canton Vaud, hence the addition VD.

background

The northwest of Yverdon-les-Bains Located on the High Jura, it was a stronghold of the Swiss watch industry for many years. Today electronics are leading in the industry, in addition, many arts and crafts companies have settled here.

The following districts also belong to the community; Le Château de Sainte-Croix, La Villette, Chez Jaccard, Les Replans, Petites Roches Dessus, Culliairy, La Sagne, La Gittaz Dessous, La Gittaz Dessus, L'Auberson, Les Grangettes, Prize Perrier, La Chaux, Mouille Mougnon and La Vraconnaz.

In 1744 a major fire destroyed the entire village of St. Croix.

getting there

From the motorway exit Yverdon Oest the A 5, one reached over the main road to St Croix, which further over the Col des Etroits after Pontarlier in France.

The Chemin de fer Yverdon - Ste-Croix narrow-gauge railway runs from Yverdon station to St. Croix.
