Sanur is the coastal part of Denpasar Selatan (Denpasar South). Sanur Kaja borders to the north and Sanur Kauh to the west.
The sea in Sanur is calm, in contrast to the beach on the opposite side Kuta there are no big waves and therefore no surfers. This means that children and inexperienced swimmers can have fun in the sea without risking their heads and necks. When it comes to traffic and nightlife, Sanur is much more comfortable than Kuta. Speedboats go to and from here to the surrounding islands

By boat
Sanur is the main town from which the surrounding islands are approached by speedboats. There are several providers for the tours. The prices are advertised on the stands, largely identical and acceptable (Nusa Penida IDR 180,000). It is advertised with short transfer times of e.g. half an hour. These times are never adhered to, as getting on and off board takes a long time to moor. It can also be the case that there is a long wait until a reasonable number of passengers has come together. Trips are made, possibly due to better weather conditions, mainly in the morning until around 9:00 am and in the afternoon from 3:00 pm.

In the street
When driving on from the port, without prior organization, you have to rely on local private drivers with excessive (double to triple) prices compared to the Bluebird taxis. Bluebird taxis are not allowed to wait for tourists here. These taxis are content with a parking area approx. 200 m further away, on the main road.
mobility
Sanur is one of the few places in Bali where you can ride a bike. This is mainly possible on the long 2 to 2.50 m wide beach promenade. Mutual consideration is required here and you should drive accordingly slowly. There are also several drive-through barriers for mopeds (and thus also obstacles for cyclists) on the route. On a few road sections there are markings for bicycle areas, which the motorized vehicles hardly pay attention to. The bikes can be rented from numerous accommodations or tourist shops. These are in every conceivable state and generally have no light.
