Sint-Denijs-Westrem is a part of Ghent and is located south of the city center, adjacent to cut off and boar earth. Sint-Denijs-Westrem has 5,134 inhabitants (2007).

Arrive

Kortrijksesteenweg is an important arterial road (with entrances and exits from the E40) that connects Sint-Denijs-Westrem with the city center.

To look at

Those who like modern architecture can visit the site around Flanders Expo go, located on the grounds of an old airfield (The control tower is all that remains from that period). The most interesting building there is probably the Artevelde Tower (also called MG Tower), this is, with its 120 meters, the highest tower in Flanders and is popular with base jumpers.

To do

  • Visit a trade show in Flanders Expo, one of the most important exhibition halls in the country (see the article about Ghent For more information.
  • Walking in the park around Borluut castle or in the Maaltepark (also with castle).

  • Ikea - Next to the Arteveldetoren is the Ghent Ikea, when it opened in 2010 this was the largest Ikea store in the world.
