Slanec is a village of Eastern Slovakia.
Understand
The village gives its name to the chain of small mountains oriented north-south and located east of Kosice and Prešov. It culminates in 1 092 m.
To go
- 1 Bus – Regular line of the eurobus company from the bus station in Kosice or from Trebišov.
- 2 Station (TO 1 km from the village towards Slančík.) – Line Kosice-Čierna nad Tisou.
By car, from Kosice, follow the signs Slovenské Nové Mesto and take route 552 heading east. The village is just after a pass.

- 1 Slanec fortified castle (Access is via a path that climbs from the back of the hill. At the level of the park, go up towards the hill of the castle and turn left at the level of the last houses. follow the path which first goes around the hill and then climbs towards the castle.),

2 €. – The castle dates back to the 1970s of the 13the century. It was abandoned at the end of the XVIIe for over 130 years when in 1815 the tower was rebuilt and became a family museum until 1937. - 4 Bunker (Scattered in the forests and hills south of Slanec.) – The bunkers in the area are part of a line of defense of the Czechoslovak army built before World War II against the possibility of Hungarian aggression.

- 1 Izra – Izra is a small lake although it is the largest natural lake in Slovakia which is not of glacial origin. Buffet. It is possible to access it on foot by following the red markers.
