Socotra, international spelling Socotra, is a yemeni Island off the coast Somalia. The island is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is currently owned by the United Arab Emirates occupied.

The dragon tree is the only natural source of shade.

Socotra is geographically part of Africa, so historical ties to Somalia are close.
