Southampton is full of students during semester hours and has an extensive nightlife. Nightlife is mainly concentrated in the areas of Portswood, Sant Marrys, Bedford Place / London Road and the center.   • Adjacent to Southampton is that New Forest, a forest and heather area that has survived almost unchanged from the days of the Normans. Since 2005 the area is a National park. Ideal for hiking and camping, the area borders the Solent, part of the English Channel. The free-running New Forest ponies are famous. Car museum in Beaulieu. Also worth seeing is Exbury Gardens.
