Spa is the most famous health resort in the Benelux and possibly one of the most famous health resorts in the world. In English, being close to the city has become a synonym for spa and healing facilities in general, even beyond medicinal baths.

Spa is known as the place of manufacture of a mineral water brand that is traded throughout Europe.

getting there

By plane

  • Brussels Zaventem Airport: The travel time by train via Brussels (Midi or North), Liege and Pepinster is about 2 1/4 hours.
  • Only a few scheduled flights are on Liege Airport detectable; the journey time is just under 2 hours.
  • The connection by train to Luxembourg Airport.
  • An airfield is available for self-pilots.

By train

  • Spa has the Spa train station and Geronstere stop.
  • There is a direct connection to Aachen via Pepinster, Verviers and Welkenraedt with the euregioAIXpress (travel time from Aachen 1: 06h)
  • In Pepinster there is a transition to long-distance traffic.

In the street

  • Spa is just under 5 km from the A27 (in Germany it is called the A60 bis Wittlich continued), junction 8 removed.
  • The N62 leads through Spa from Liège and further on Saint-Vith and Weiswampach.

By bicycle

  • The pre-RAVeL L44a, which branches off from the L45, ends here. So there is a connection to the Vennbahn. For those arriving, the distance from Stavelot to Hockai is steadily increasing. The short stretch from the Géronstère stop to the start of the path on the railway line is not signposted. From Spa to the road between Nivezé and Sart-lez-Spa, the railway line is just a footpath paved with coarse gravel. From there the railway line is easier to drive.
