Spring Green is a small place in the southwest of Wisconsin, just under an hour west of Madison. This travel destination is only interesting for fans of the American cult architect Frank Lloyd Wright. For them, however, it is a place of pilgrimage, because this is where Taliesin is located, the residence where the master lived and taught from 1911 to 1967.

Work by Frank Lloyd Wright
- 4 Andrew and Jane Porter House (Tan-y-Deri), 5607 County Road C. Prairie House that FLW built in 1907 for his sister, Jane Porter, and her family. In the 1950s, Wright acquired the house and made it part of the Taliesin Estate. It can be viewed on guided tours.
- 5 Taliesin, 5481 Route 23. FLW's private residence, built in 1911, which also includes a studio. Wright built Taliesin after leaving his first wife, Catherine Tobin, and entering into a relationship with Mamah Borthwick Cheney. The land had already belonged to his mother's family at the time of the civil war. Wright implemented his ideas of organic architecture here. In 1914, an unprecedented tragedy erupted in Taliesin when Wright's employee Julian Carlton set fire to the living quarters and killed seven people, including Mamah and her two children, with an ax. Wright restored the living area and named it Taliesin II. In a fire in 1925, the living area was again badly damaged. Again Wright carried out a restoration (Taliesin III). From 1937 onwards, Wright and his co-workers spent the winters in Taliesin West (see Arizona / Frank Lloyd Wright). The Visitor Center, which was built in 1956 and is freely accessible without an entrance fee, was also designed by Wright himself. Visitors can choose between various guided sightseeing tours. Tours of the house last 2 hours and cost a minimum of $ 54. No children under 10 years. Photography is allowed, even inside the building.
- 6 Wyoming Valley Grammar School, 6306 Route 23, south of Spring Green. School built in 1957. Can be visited as part of guided tours.
