Understand
During the Pakistan period, Sylhet Division was a district under the same name and was part of Chittagong Division then as one of four divisions of East Pakistan. This is the major tea-growing area of Bangladesh.
Talk
Bengali is the most widely spoken language, although many people speak English in the larger towns and cities. Sylheti is a related, but distinct language from Bengali and is also widely spoken in the Sylhet Division.
