Szklarka Śląska - Szklarka Śląska

Szklarka Śląska is a village of about 250 inhabitants, located in Greater Poland Voivodeshipin the southwestern part Ostrów County and in the west of the Sosno commune. It is located approximately 27 km southwest of the center Ostrów Wielkopolski and is located near the district road A pine tree - Bogdaj. There is a complex of fish ponds near the village Możdżanowskie ponds.

History

From 1739 the village was part of the Międzybórz estate. In the years 1908-1940 the brothers were the owners of Szklarka, together with Możdżanowo and the surrounding ponds Kazimierz and Wojciech Lipscy GRABIE coat of arms from Górzno. They adapted the hunting lodge in Możdżanowo. At the local cemetery there is a grave of a social activist, teacher and headmaster of the local school - Jerzy Lanc. In the early 1930s, he worked as a teacher in one of the schools in Masuria, where he was harassed for his patriotic attitude by the German authorities and Nazi activists. He died in 1932. in unexplained circumstances.

Worth seeing

  • Along the local road to Sosnia stretches lovely alley 145 oaks - creating an amazing landscape.
  • Administrator's court , later property leaseholders - a single-storey building made of turf ore and bricks from the 4th quarter of the 19th century. In the years 1940-1944 it housed a prisoner-of-war camp.
  • Hunting manor house - a one-story brick building made of bog iron from the beginning of the 20th century.
