Szolnok is a city in Hungary.

Szolnok is mentioned as early as around 1075 AD, King Sigismund granted the city some privileges around 1422 and 1429, and Szolnok has been a city since then. It was severely decimated by Tatar attacks, the rule of the Ottomans ended in 1685. Today the city offers a lot of cultural things, there are also numerous sights.
Szolnok is located in the eponymous Small area of Szolnok.

From direction Vienna one drives first to after Budapest and from here to Szolnok. A one-way 2nd class ticket from Budapest costs 1414 HUF, 1st class 1770 HUF.

In the street
- From Budapest: trunk road 4 past the airport to Szolnok.
- Out Vienna coming changes shortly before Budapest onto the M0 ring road and then onto the M5 direction Szeged. Exit E60 / 405 Dabas / Szolnok / Albertirsa and continue on trunk roads 405 and 4.
- Coming from the south (Pécs, Szeged) you drive around Budapest far south (Dunaföldvár - Kecskemét - Cegléd)

- Tabán open-air theater, Tabán 24. i.a. Fisheries exhibition, way of life of the people in the 18th century.Open: May 1st to September 30th, Thursday to Sunday from 1pm to 5pm.

Permanent exhibitions are on history, archeology, folklore and in the field of the visual arts.Open: Tue to Sun between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.Price: Admission for adults to the four permanent exhibitions costs 950 HUF, concessions 450 HUF. - On the second weekend in September the perfect kettle goulash is sought. The Goulash Festival is one of the largest events in Hungary, where traditional kettle goulash is prepared every year.
