Szolnok is a city in Hungary.

Szolnok is mentioned as early as around 1075 AD, King Sigismund granted the city some privileges around 1422 and 1429, and Szolnok has been a city since then. It was severely decimated by Tatar attacks, the rule of the Ottomans ended in 1685. Today the city offers a lot of cultural things, there are also numerous sights.
