Sánchez is a small town in the province of Samaná in the Dominican Republic. It is in the west of the Samana Bay(Bahía de Samaná) and is considered the gateway to the national park Los Haitises.

The place originally had the name Las Cañitas. In 1866 he was given the name Sánchez in honor of Francisco del Rosario Sánchez, one of the founding fathers of the Dominican Republic.
