Sławatycze - a village located in Lubelskie Voivodeship, in Biała Podlaska County, in Sławatycze Commune.

Characteristic

A large village (over 2,500 inhabitants), formerly a town, which is visible in the buildings (market square, parallel streets, with no access to arable land). Commercial, administrative and cultural center of the commune.

Drive

The town is located off the beaten track, on Bug, which is a border river in this area. 2 km from the village there is a border crossing Sławatycze-Domaczewo.

By car

Sławatycze is situated by the national road no. 63, leading from Radzyń Podlaski to the border crossing with Belarus and by the provincial road No. 816, leading along the Bug river.

By bus

Bus connection with Biała Podlaska, Radzyń Podlaski, Włodawa and Warsaw.

The lack of industry and intensive agriculture allowed for the preservation of the natural environment in good condition. A rich world of plants and animals, large wooded areas (mushrooms, blueberries, blueberries).

• Kodeń - former town, today a village. A pilgrimage center with a miraculous painting, monuments from the 16th and 17th centuries.
• Apple - a village with one of the most important monasteries in Poland.
• Bug - the river in the area is the border between Poland and Belarus. It still kept its natural character. Due to legal problems and the lack of infrastructure, it is not very popular among tourists. In recent years, rafting has been started, among others, on the Sławatycze - Jabłeczna - Kodeń route (possible return by bike).
