Tafraout (sometimes spelled Tafraoute) is a city in the south of Morocco, in the province of Tiznit.
Understand
Populated by about 6,300 inhabitants, Tafraout is an agricultural and tourist center popular with visitors in search of authenticity. This small town established in the Anti-Atlas, in the heart of the Ammeln valley, is famous for its natural environment marked by the proximity of a mountainous cirque with pink granite tops, which give the site an almost unreal character. With its palm groves, almond groves and as a backdrop its rocky heaps that respond to the sharp edges of the Jbel Lekst nearby, this colorful little town is an ideal starting point for spectacular hikes in the midst of landscapes that are sometimes cheerful, sometimes tormented.
Tafraout hosts renowned festivals such as the Festival of Lights every year Tifawine or party Idernan, where you can enjoy donuts and pancakes to the rhythm of the music ahouach.
