Tallinn is the capital of Estonia, lies on the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland, just 70 km (43 miles) south of Helsinki. A city of more than 400,000 inhabitants, it is home to a third of the country’s population, and in addition to serving as the national capital, it is also the capital of Harjumaa in Northern Estonia.
