Territories and tourist destinations

Urban centers

  • Lenakel - Capital of the island.
  • White Sands - The area on the east coast where it is preferable to seek accommodation. White Sands is closer to some tourist attractions than Lenakel.
  • Yakel - In the center of the "Yaohnanen" tribal area where men still wear traditional costumes and even a cloak. Yaohnanen is known because its inhabitants deified the Prince Philip of Edinburgh.
