Tash Rabat is an old caravanserai on the Silk Road in the south Kyrgyzstan. It is considered to be the best-preserved building on the Silk Road and, due to its remote location, is certainly most inclined to revive the atmosphere of that time.

background

The caravanserai was built in the 15th century and served the caravans of the Silk Road as a refuge in bad weather, a resting place and an information exchange. The complex is built in perfect symmetry and was the largest stone structure in Central Asia at the time.
