ThasosGreek an island in the north of the Aegean Sea, located 8 km from the coast of Thrace. With an area of ​​390 km², it is the ninth largest island in Greece. Its highest peak is Mount Ipsarion, 1204 m above sea level. There are three islets around the main island: Tasopulo in the north, Kinira in the east and Panajia in the south. The islands contribute to the municipality of Thasos and the regional unit of Thasos, in the region East Macedonia and Thrace, in the decentralized administration of Macedonia-Thrace. The administrative capital is the city of Thasos, commonly known as Limenas.
