Northwest Territories - territory Canada located in the central part of northern Canada. NWT borders on territories Yukon in the west and Nunavut in the east and with the provinces: British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. The northern border of the territory is the shores of the Arctic Sea. The territory also includes a number of islands, including part of Victoria Island, Banks Island and many smaller ones. Theoretically, it also belongs to the triangle between the meridians, with the vertex at the North Pole.
