Toroni is a town on the peninsula Sithonia.

The name Toroni comes from Greek mythology. It is the name of the wife of Proteus, a son of Poseidon. The place is located in the south of the peninsula on the west coast and, in addition to some nice taverns, has a beautiful sandy beach, which is not yet as touristically developed and therefore not so overcrowded. The place itself takes a bit of getting used to, but somehow has that certain something, even if it doesn't seem so at first glance.

getting there

The only way to get to Toroni is by car. You just follow the road from Neos Marmaras to the south. But then you have to make sure that you don't miss the descent. However, there are not very many towns here, so the place is easy to find.

mobility

You can walk to everything in Toroni because the place is not that big. A walk on the beach doesn't take an hour if you give yourself enough time. All the taverns on the beach can also be reached on foot. You can leave the car behind.

Tourist Attractions

The nicest thing about Toroni is of course the beach. The white sand invites you to laze around. Here you can relax and unwind. Enjoy a nice book in the shade, that's what you can do here. About in the middle of the beach there is a small stream that flows into the Mediterranean Sea. A group of turtles lives here and you can watch them do their thing.

Everything you can do in the water and on the beach can be done here. However, you shouldn't expect the boats with the giant bananas to pound across the water here, because they don't exist here. If you walk north along the beach, you come to a small headland, behind which there is another very beautiful beach. It also just invites you to linger, there is not much going on here either, here you can enjoy yourself.

You get everything you need to be able to cater for yourself in a small supermarket on the promenade (near Haus Badis).

There are a couple of small tavernas on the beach. Angelos Garden, a restaurant in the Greek tradition, is an insider tip. Here you should always ask what is special on this day that is not on the menu. Here you always have something special ready for your guests. You can eat outside, with a view of the beach and the creek with the turtles is also not far.

nightlife

If you want to experience the Greek nightlife, then this is the wrong place and you have to go Neos Marmaras or after Sarti drive.

In Toroni you can also take a room to stay a couple of nights. There are a handful of guest houses where you can get a room. The pensions are simple and run by Greeks. If you stay longer, you can also get discounts. In addition, there are now some bungalows (studios) with very affordable prices (low season).
