The city is on Bruce Highway A1that of the southern Brisbane (1112 km away) after Cairns (285 km away) leads to the north.

Sports

Townsville is home to four professional sports teams. By far the most popular is the rugby league team North Queensland Cowboys. You play in the National Rugby League, the best league in the world.
